This morning I asked Lauryn what she was thankful for. I thought it would be fun to write down her response each year from now on to see how her views change. Of course her first response was the obligatory "mommy and daddy", but she did add several of her own. Right now her response was pretty simple.
"I'm thankful for Mommy and Daddy. And my Christmas tree and ornaments and the star we buyed at Hobby Lobby. And my playroom and bedroom and bathroom and the potty. And for Mimi and Pappy, and Jessi. And Grandma and Grandpa. And my friends. Like Macy and Matthew and Ethan."
I'm thankful that her life is so simple and carefree that she can be grateful for little things like Christmas ornaments and toilets. I know as she gets older, she will become even more aware of life's true blessings. We are so thankful to have the blessings of family, health, and good friends.
This afternoon we are off to enjoy our first of two Thanksgiving feasts this week! We can't wait to spend the holiday with our family and to celebrate God's many gifts.

Yes, she usually does include Allie in her prayers every night. I'm not sure what happened today :)
Well, we're feeling pretty good around here that Ethan was included. But I am surprised that she didn't say she was thankful for Ethan William...that still cracks me up!
