Shameless Bragging

Our three year old is becoming quite the little artist. She enjoys drawing right now. And most of all, she enjoys drawing people. I am not an artist. There is not one artistic fiber in my being. Oh, sure, I try to draw the occasional dog or car when requested. And when I taught, I would try to get my point across by drawing different scenarios on the white board in front of the class. This was usually just met with puzzled looks and glazed-over eyes. Poor kids.

But I think Lauryn is truly beginning to develop some artistic skills. Here is something she drew yesterday when given a pen and a blank piece of paper. Now, this next statement is coming from someone whose drawings still looked like this well into the 3rd grade.

But don't you think it's fabulous?! The people have ears! And shoes! And fingers!

It would make sense, because her father is an amazing artist. And so are several members of her extended family.

So there is today's post. Bragging about my child. And isn't that really what the point of this blog is, anyway?!
