Yesterday I noticed Lauryn coming into the living room from the hallway, closely followed by Allison. This is not unusual. If Lauryn is doing something, you can bet her little sister is imitating it as best she can.
Lauryn was holding a basket full of stuffed animals, and Allison was carrying an orange Halloween pumpkin (the kind we trick-or-treat with).
Me: "What'cha doing?"
L: "We're going to Bethlehem (pronounced Bettle-ham) to celebrate Jesus' birthday."
Me: "What's in your basket?"
L: "All my friends. They're coming with us to see the Baby Jesus, too."
I watched her walk into the living room (Allie dutifully following) and noticed a doll (clearly, the Christ Child) laying on the ottoman.
I'm sure it was a welcomed change from that feeding trough.
Suddenly, Lauryn took Allison's hands and started turning in a circle, dancing, and singing "Away in a Manger." I think it might be the most precious thing I have ever seen.
A few hours later, Lauryn was pushing the shopping cart through the house carrying the Halloween pumpkin and a telephone.
Me: "What's all that in your cart?"
L: "Oh, Mary and Joseph were handing out phones and pumpkins."
Me: "Really?"
L: "Yep!"
*pause*
L: "Well...actually just the pumpkin. We got the phone at the hardware store."

Could life be any more fun than at the Pilgrim household? Doubtful. Wish I lived there just to be entertained! Guess I'll have to settle for the blog. :)
That is hilarious! I think I need to go to Bettleham for my freebies!
Ha, Lauryn makes me laugh. Love her!!
oh my gosh. this is the most precious and hilarious story ever. i seriously teared up reading about her "manger scene" and singing away in a manger. you are such a good mommy- that little girl has the whole jesus thing figured out! and then, of course, i changed from crying to laughing when she came back from the hardware store. she has such an imagination.
