Christmastime is Here

I feel like I'm 8 years old tonight. I can not WAIT for Christmas! It is really exciting to experience this part of it all over again with my children.

But this time around, instead of being upset that the days are dragging by and it feels like Christmas will never get here, I feel like I need another week to get ready for the big day! We have been so busy lately that I will honestly need a few days to settle down and get back into the normal routine. With parties and programs and baking (yes, I did!) and gift wrapping, my head is spinning!

I probably won't be able to post for a few days, so I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures of the girls and let you know how we'll be spending tomorrow and the next day.

We plan to do our first annual Gingerbread House tomorrow morning. And by "we", I mean my husband (who may or may not have been suckered into doing this). I do want to make it a tradition with the girls, so we'll see how it goes the first time around!

We have our church Christmas program tomorrow evening and Lauryn is participating. I'm so excited to see her perform! She loves doing it, and you can tell.

After that, we are off to have dinner and then drive around looking at lights. Then we're home to set out cookies for Santa and read our Christmas books.

We'll wake up Christmas morning to see what Santa brought, then we'll be going to Mimi and Pappy's house to open even more presents.

We are truly blessed. It's so exciting to think that we are making the Christmas memories my girls will remember for the rest of their lives. I know I will never forget my memories of Christmas morning surrounded by my family. Feeling safe, happy, and loved. I'm telling you, I can NOT wait until Christmas Day!

My favorite part is knowing that my girls will also know why we celebrate. Lauryn has really absorbed the entire Christmas Story this year. She knows all the details (big and small) from "Bettle-ham" to the fact that the Angel told Mary not to be afraid. She knows the reason we celebrate, and that is the biggest blessing of all.

Here are some pictures of the girls tonight playing Ring Around the Rosey and wearing their Christmas dresses.

Look at Allison's face...she is about to explode from the excitement! She loves this game!

Getting ready to fall down
The Grand Finale
(And no, I do not know how Lauryn's leg was physically able to do that, but I promise she did get up and walk away.)

Have a Merry Christmas!
