Christmas Cards...Take 54

I figured almost everyone has received the Christmas cards we mailed out, so it's time to show the outtakes.

This comes in a close second as our most dreaded Christmas-time activity. Actually, now it might be #1 because since we got the pre-lit tree, there are no more arguments over stringing the lights!

So yes, now this is officially the most dreaded Christmas-time activity. I LOVE Christmas cards and can't wait for the mail each day to see who we got a card from. I love seeing how everyone's kids have grown, and to hear updates from friends and family across the country. I might actually be one of the few who enjoys getting people's holiday form letters!

What I don't love is the process of taking our picture. I am really particular and want everything to be perfect. Since my children are real, live children...perfect pictures are impossible. I do hope to have both of them looking at the camera and smiling. Again, almost impossible.

This year was no different. I was jumping around, singing, dancing, doing whatever it took to get the slightest look of amusement from both girls at the same time. Eventually we did get one that worked and mailed out the cards. I thought you'd enjoy seeing some shots that didn't make the cut!

One of the first poses, taken while I was dancing around making goofy noises and faces:

Allison: "Our mom is a pretty big dork."
Lauryn: "Seriously."
There's nothing that says Christmas quite like the glowing red eyes of a child. Whose head happens to be growing out of her shoulder.

A little too into the spirit...I was dancing around trying to get a smile from Allie, and Lauryn decided to join in.

Nothing says classy like a bulky diaper hanging out of your baby's pants.

And to answer several who have asked, I did make the overalls. I saw them in a children's boutique (I'm not sure what I was doing in there in the first place...must have lost my head for a minute). When I saw that the price tag read $90.00 (yes, that's U.S. dollars) I headed straight out the door and created some of my own. It was fun and surprisingly easy, so you'll probably see more creations as the years go by!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
