Quick Check-In

We're all doing great...super, super busy.

Just wanted to check in and update on the latest.

Lauryn is progressing wonderfully in school. Her teacher has started letting her take AR tests (Accelerated Reading) where she reads a book and takes a comprehension test on the computer. Typically they don't start those until later on in first grade. She made a 100 on her first test and takes another one tomorrow. We couldn't be more proud of her!

Allie is such a little character. Her personality makes me smile! We buckled down and got serious around here and I'm proud to say that she officially knows all of her letters and sounds except "U" and "J" (not quite sure what the hangup is with those two, but I figure we'll work it out eventually!) I am feeling much better and much less like a slacker. I know she will learn to read one way or the other, but I stay at home with her and I am a former teacher, so...it was kind of weighing on me!

The girls play together every spare minute they have. From the second Lauryn gets home from school they are off playing "Polly Pockets" or "My Little Pony" or "Taylor and Carrie"(Swift and Underwood, respectively...that is one "game" that is pretty entertaining to watch!) And the weekends are a dream because Brent and I are always able to get so much done since the girls completely entertain themselves and get along beautifully. I hope this phase lasts a long, long time!

Time is flying by and in some ways I'm glad (getting closer to summer vacation!) and in other ways it makes me sad (one more year before Allie starts kindergarten! WHAT?!?!?!)

I just got their Easter dresses and can not wait for spring! I do enjoy the cold weather but have officially had enough at this point.

Things are running smoothly around here...we are blessed!
