Giddy-up

Apparently it is the month to celebrate all things western. Both girls have a "western day" or "rodeo roundup" or something along those lines within a week of each other.

Allie's was today, and she was so excited! They are having a cookout and making stick horses. Too cute!

Even though we live in Texas we don't have much when it comes to "cowboy" attire. I know some of you outsiders will find that shocking. I know for a fact some people think that Texans ride horses to get from one place to the other and that we all live on ranches.

Our "Ugg" style boots are the closest thing we have to cowboy boots. And of course bandana print always makes for festive western day wear!

I initially made this dress for Lauryn's "Western Day" next week. I used a shirt she wore for western day in preschool last year. It still fits around the middle, but is just too short. So I added the skirt and turned it into a dress. It's a little big on Allie, but I figured might as well get as much use out of it as possible!

YEE HAW!
(Cause we say that all the time. Since we live in Texas.)

She looks adorable! Remind me of that little number when Rachel has cowboy day next year. :)

That is so creative. I never would have thought of that at all! She looks pretty darn cute to me! She just needs her own pony now!
