Honest Allie

This week and last, the girls learned about Abe Lincoln and other presidents in honor of President's Day this month. Allie brought this home from school yesterday!
I thought it was appropriate timing that she learned about Lincoln's nickname being "Honest Abe" and that I caught her in her very first "fib" this afternoon. :(

She was eating some leftover Valentine's Day candy after lunch today. It just happened to be her new favorite candy...Fun Dip. (*gag*)

We poured some of the sugar into a bowl. I didn't let her eat the entire package in one sitting. I told her she could have the rest later. She then asked if she could also eat the stick.

Let me put the dentist on speed dial first.

I told her she couldn't eat it today, but maybe she could eat some of the stick for another dessert. I mean, there has to be a limit to the amount of pure sugar consumed by a three year old before we are ALL hating life.

So later this afternoon I told her she could eat the rest of her bowl of sugar. (Why do we have this stuff in the house?!) I came back into the kitchen when she told me she was all done.

I am not kidding you when I say that the bowl was practically licked clean and there was NO.STICK.TO.BE.FOUND.

I looked at her and said, "Allie, did you eat the stick!????" She looked around for a minute and said, "Um. I think it melted."

At least it was creative. No?

**Happy Birthday to my Daddy today! We love you!**

Oh no! It melted...that is creative! Hoping she catches on quickly that it's better to tell the truth. :)

Very creative!
I remember eating fun dip all the time as a kid. I guess our parents didn't care back then if our teeth rotted out of our heads, or about diabetes, or about our poor pancreas trying to process all that sugar.
Cute picture of her as Abe. :)
