What a Week

This was one of those weeks that I just did not want to forget. So many fun and funny things with Lauryn that made me realize how fast she is growing up.

-We loved watching the Olympics this year. She really got into every sport and asked lots of questions. One night we were watching ice skating and a skater from Turkey was on the ice. She thought it was absolutely hilarious that there was a country named "Turkey". We laughed for a little while and then moved on.

Then, out of the blue, she said she had a joke for me.

L:"What did the turkey say to the ham?"
Me: "What?"
L:"HEY! I live in this country!" (followed with wild laughter!)

-After gymnastics this week her coach wanted to talk to me. He said he thought she was doing well and should have an evaluation to determine if she is ready to advance to the next level.

Well, she was, and she did! The teacher who did her evaluation said he was impressed with her listening skills and attention to detail, and that she was doing so well for her age and the length of time she's even been in gymnastics. She needed an 80 to advance and she got an 87! Yay Lauryn!

-And, finally, the MOST exciting event by far happened just this afternoon when we were at the park enjoying this nice weather:

Look Mom! No training wheels!

WOW! You guys DID have quite a week! Please tell Lauryn that we are so proud of her for doing so well in gymnastics and of course for taking her training wheels off. Ethan will be so super impressed!!! And I'll pass the joke along to Ethan - I'm sure he'll think it's hysterical. :)
