Thankfully they didn't pick the one with all the feathers

One of my favorite Christmas memories is when, every year, my mom let us pick out a new ornament right before Christmas. It was always so exciting to stare at the wall of ornaments at the store and narrow it down to just one.

I am carrying on this tradition with my own girls. I can't wait to see how their tastes change over the years as we compare all of their different ornaments.

We were at Hobby Lobby this morning, and the girls were so excited when I announced that today they could choose their new ornament for the tree. It didn't take Allison long at all, but Lauryn was a little more selective.

Thankfully they appear to have good taste in ornaments, not even giving a second glance to those adorned with feathers and sequins or that were hot pink in color.

In the end, this is what we came home with:

Allison's is the snowman on the left, and Lauryn chose the gingerbread house because it is very beautiful and sparkly.

I don't think I could have chosen anything better.

What a great tradition. My uncle always gave me a hallmark ornament and I have started that with Hayden. It's great to have these memories. I think they did a great job picking them out. How exciting for them and think about what that tree will look like
in 10 years. Full of personality!

How fun. You are so good at creating and sticking with traditions. That's something I really want to work on. Cute ornaments!
