Weekend

We had a really fun, relaxing weekend. But at the same time, we stayed pretty busy around the house. We had our new kitchen table delivered and we LOVE it. That was actually the highlight of our weekend, to be honest.

We are nothing if not adventurous.

Anyway, the weather was gorgeous so the girls spent a lot of time outside with daddy while he worked in the garage on a fabulous project for our kitchen.
I managed to start another NPO and got some good work time in.

Although I did take time out every hour occasionally throughout the weekend to keep up with Britney and her latest ordeal.

Darn Britney. If it weren't for her, I might have caught up on the laundry.

I took some cute pictures of the girls playing outside with their daddy. Sadly, I lost most of those pictures in an unfortunate brain computer malfunction, but I did manage to salvage a few.

The pre-shot stance.
I believe this is the official free-throwing position of the WNBA.
I've never seen a game, so I'd have to check for sure. But I'm pretty sure that's right.

Oh, and she picked out her own shoes, in case you thought I was color blind, or that I just didn't care. Remember my resolution?! I'm putting it into practice every single day.

Working on the landscaping.

Lauryn seemed to really enjoy "playing" basketball. She kept trying over and over to make it in the basket.

Hopefully she didn't inherit her athletic skills from her mother.

A little background: In middle school I was in "Athletics" rather than regular P.E. (heaven only knows why.)

Maybe I thought athletics was more "cool" than regular P.E. so I signed up. But really, if you think about it, that was back when everyone wore their bangs 4 inches off their head. Straight in the air. Why was ANYONE cool??

So once I was chosen to go to the basketball game and actually play. If I remember correctly, not everyone on the team played at every game. I played in my fair share of volleyball games, but never basketball.

The one time I was required to "suit up" for a game sent me into a mild panic. I had no clue what I was doing, and didn't have a plan in place in case the ball actually came in contact with my hands. I was a nervous wreck. I had been in class all year, but didn't have a clue how to play basketball.

I suppose the only reason the coach brought me to the game was because it was the rule to make sure every kid went to at least one.

I sat on the bench through the entire game. The coach never called on me to go in. And I have never been more relieved in my life!

So anyway, let's hope my child has a little more talent for the game of basketball than her mother.

I'm off to continue work on my latest NPO. Hope your weekend was as fun as ours!

I was in PE and rightfully so. I knew my limits and anything involving sweat and me usually don't mix well.
Can't wait to see the table and keep it up with the NPO's!

Haha, I got to play in the basketball games because I was good at practice. Then I'd panic at the games, and just let the other team constantly block me. I would actually LOOK for the girl who was guarding me and go stand by her so I wouldnt get the ball! haha!

so, that is EXACTLY how I remembered my basketball experience. Maybe I was just remembering yours. But, I thought that I just went to one game and never got to play. Hmmm...
