...so please indulge me this Proud Mommy Moment #47:
Lauryn was in the playroom playing with her new Leap Frog Phonics Box and decided the picture of the bug on one of the tiles was, more specifically, a ladybug. She wanted to try and spell it using the letter tiles, but I told her there weren't enough letters to spell ladybug. The game only uses three-letter words.
She wanted to try to sound out the word ladybug, so we got a marker and a piece of paper and she came up with this. By herself.
She pronounces it "Lay-tee-bug" so I thought this was pretty great.

I taught 2nd grade, so this beginning reading/writing is a little unfamiliar to me. But I'm guessing that she's doing a pretty good job. She won't start kindergarten for another year and a half, but I'm thinking she'll really be ready to go!
I'm not sure the same goes for me...

Um, yes, that is VERY good for beginning handwriting. Especially since she's a three year old!! Love her!!
(And yes, actually I was alseep when you called... I accidentally took a small nap! Those kids wore me out today!)
She is so freaking amazing. I am seriously floored by that. She is ready for at least first grade. I hope you realize how awesome that is!
WOW! You deserve to brag. I'm amazed. :)
