I was so disappointed when our camera battery charger went missing right around the time our little caterpillar friends arrived in the mail! Lauryn got this kit for her birthday. We had to mail off for our caterpillars, and sure enough, they arrived in the mail. In a box. I felt bad for them but they didn't seem affected by the trip.I really wish I had been able to take a picture of them when they first arrived. They were so small and literally grew overnight. It was amazing to see how big they got in just a week!
Thankfully the camera is now charged and I was able to get a few pictures of them in their "chrysalis" phase. Obviously I still don't know all there is to know about my camera and couldn't get a great focus on them, but it gets the point across.
Hopefully in 7-10 days we will see five brand new butterflies! We'll keep you updated!

I have to admit that my first thought was "baby"! But I'm sure these guys are much easier and more fun for Lauryn! Can't wait to see what they look like when they spread their wings.
