Lauryn Funnies

Here are a few fun stories about Lauryn from this weekend.

1).
Lauryn got a Little Mermaid doll for the bathtub. She was playing with it tonight and wanted me to watch the doll float.
L: Look Mommy! Ariel is floating on her back!
Me: Oh, wow! Just like you float at your swimming lessons! Did you teach her to float on her back!?
L: No. She just floats. Some things float and some things sink, Mom.

Poor Lauryn. I bet she wishes she had a smart mommy like all the other kids.

2).
Lauryn is really into role playing now. She will have “conversations” between her dolls or barbies for what seems like hours! Sometimes I try to get in on it, but I don’t feel very creative and can't quite think of what to “say”. Brent, on the other hand, is great and can play right along with her. I love listening to them play because I always end up giggling at the things he comes up with!

Today L was playing with some new birthday toys, including her Cinderella and Prince figurines. B was playing the part of the prince, and Lauryn was pretending to be Cinderella’s stepmother. She was talking “ugly” to the prince, using her best wicked-stepmother-voice. Which was basically just her regular voice, 20 times louder.

B: Why are you being so mean to Cinderella and me? Why don’t you change?
L: I CAN’T!!
B: Why? Can’t you just pray and ask God to change your heart?”
L: NO! BECAUSE THAT'S NOT IN THE STORY!
B: What story?
L: THE STORY OF CINDERELLA!

3).
Tonight we were saying prayers with Lauryn at bedtime.

L: Thank you, God, for our family and friends. And thank you for this week. And we ask you to pray for us, God. Amen.

If we've even got God praying for us, we must be in some serious trouble!
