Last Friday, we took a weekend trip to Houston to visit some friends. On our way, we HAD to stop at our other "home". We found some really great friends and made some of the best memories of our life while living in College Station.
Being on campus feels like being home. Wonderful memories come flooding back every time we drive through the town. Many Aggies will tell you that it's hard to put those feelings into words for others to understand. It's just one of those things you can't explain.
Much like Paula Abdul's behavior last night on American Idol.
Anyway, we stopped in College Station twice this weekend and it was wonderful! We got some great pictures of the girls around campus. Allison can now say, "Aggies", and "A&M" while holding up her little "gig 'em" thumb.
Here are plenty of pictures to last you through the rest of the week. The girls and I are flying to Iowa with my mom tomorrow, so I won't be updating again until next week.
We stopped by the Quad first. This is where I lived my first semester at A&M. Of course with Brent being in the Aggie Band, this was his home all 4 years. It's quite a sight on game days!

The girls loved the fountain at Rudder!

We threw some pennies in the fountain for good luck. Or maybe just for the sake of wasting 4 cents.

The Academic Building

The girls with their Daddy and Sul Ross.

Mommy and the girls under the Century Tree!

It was so hot that afternoon!

Like all kids (for whatever reason) Lauryn LOVED the hotel. The girls did amazingly well. They didn't have any trouble sleeping, which made a wonderful experience for everyone! Lisa suggested we get a "split" room where the bedroom was closed off from the living area. It was the best advice I've ever received. The girls slept in the living area and we were able to move around and watch tv after they went to sleep!

I have visions of framing this picture some day. Right next to the one with the girls standing by this very sign wearing their caps and gowns, the day they graduate from Texas A&M. No pressure.

This is the building where Brent proposed, over 10 years ago!

And I think we took a picture with this very same pose.
alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195145384888992626" />As we were getting out of the car to eat at Layne's, Lauryn called to me and wanted me to take her picture. When I turned around, she was standing like this.

We had a wonderful time! I'll have more pictures of our next trip later next week!

awww! I love to see that good old fashioned brain washing at work there. So cute. Love the Paula Abdul comment btw too. What the crap?
Ahhh, yes - I lived in B/CS for 6yrs. Met my hubby there, got married there, taught my 1st salary job there, met you there, etc. etc.
Now,let's not discredit Post Oak Mall...Ran up alot of credit cards there...(they should give cc to college students!)
Whoops - Should NOT give cc's to college students!
um- did I miss something with Paula or am I just so used to her being mentally challenged that I didn't notice whatever it is you are talking about?
