Pumpkin Week

We've had a week-long celebration of Halloween between trunk-or-treat, choir parties, parades, school party, and trick-or-treating. And if I'm being honest, I'm SOOO glad it's over. Halloween is definitely my least favorite holiday. No question.

But the kids have a blast so it is fun watching them enjoy it. Lauryn's school does a "Pumpkin Parade" where the kids decorate a pumpkin and bring it to school to carry in the parade. Last year she was a mermaid for Halloween, so her pumpkin was a mermaid. This year she was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, so her pumpkin carried on with the theme. She decided to make it the Wicked Witch! She painted the pumpkin green and Daddy obviously painted the face. She helped glue on the hair and nose, and it turned out really cute!
She was so proud!
We had a "Pumpkin Party" at school on Friday. One of the games involved half of the kids in the hallway dressing like a ghost/scarecrow, and the other half of the kids waiting in the room had to guess who it was. Surprisingly, they almost always got it right on the very first guess. We soon realized they could see their shoes as they walked into the room. :)
Pumpkin relay! Super concentration...
We had about 5 minutes between the end of the party and dismissal. Lauryn's teacher put on a funny video with a skeleton dancing and singing, and the kids imitated the dance moves! Take a look at who is front and center, right in the middle of the action! She wants to be in "big" school SOOOO bad!
Daddy and the girls carved the pumpkin after school on Friday...

We have lots of pictures to share from trick-or-treating tonight, but that will have to wait for another day.
Bring on November!

L is getting so big! I had no idea how many activities there are during October. It was so easy when he was just a little baby! I guess I'm gonna have to get in better shape before Hayden gets too big.
