The Fair Was in Town

One of my favorite (and most vivid) childhood memories was visiting the fair every September in my hometown. As a kid, I would go with my family every year. As I got older, I went with friends and would wait for my mom to pick me up, probably sometime around 9:00 (is that shocking to anyone else??! I can't imagine letting the girls hang out at the fair by themselves...I guess times are different now.)

The very last time I was at this fair, Brent and I were 17 years old. And we were on a date. So funny!

We made plans to visit the fair this year with Brent's parents and his sister and her family. The girls were beside themselves with excitement, and were counting down the days all week until it was Friday!

We started off with the most important part of the fair....the food.

Those ruffled potato chips were so amazing...I can't even look at this picture without salivating.

Lauryn happened to get a splinter while playing, and instantly knew that Grandpa could help! Apparently it was quite a show!

One by one, the crowd lost interest and dispersed....

...except for our sweet niece Katelyn...who apparently wanted a turn of her own :)

Did you know they had a sea lion show at the fair? Me neither. Why did we drive 5 hours to Sea World this summer!??

Silly mirrors!

There was a really fun exhibit set up in the convention center and the girls thought it was really neat!

They loved the rides!

And saw their very first camel. Kind of weird and random...but they were excited :)

I am so glad the girls were able to experience the same hometown fair I went to as a kid. They loved every minute of it!

Love it! And a sea lion show? Really? I'm pretty sure they've added that since we've been gone. Maybe they felt the need to spice it up a bit. Looks like you guys had a great time!

No way! Did y'all go Friday or Saturday? We were there Friday. I forgot that you were coming down. I know you were probably busy, but I hate that we missed y'all.

Love the pics and I have one of Hayden in the Austronaut suit too!!!
