Games and other happenings

No one is more shocked than me to find two new blog posts two days in a row! And there is even more where that came from...we visited a pumpkin patch yesterday, so stay tuned for those pictures as well.

All while I'm running in circles working on last minute items for a big craft show this weekend. I think I must work well under pressure.

Just wanted to share a couple of cute things happening around here...

Brent made this memo board for our kitchen and we typically use it to write grocery lists and the weekly dinner menu. Yes, I realize that according to this week's menu, we are eating about as healthy as a college freshman living in a dorm room with a mini fridge and a microwave. Don't judge me. I don't have time to cook this week because of all the sewing. And Girl Scouts. And Gymnastics. And church choir.

But I will say that I made homemade chicken fried steak on Sunday. No, it's not really nutritious either. But it was definitely amazing.

Anyway, Brent and Lauryn have come up with this game. She wrote on the board, "Daddy, will you play tic tac toe?"

He walked by later on, and drew the tic tac toe board. She walked by several hours later, saw the board, and put her "x" in place. He passed by the board again...you get the idea. It is just super cute.

In other news, after experiencing the Aggie march-in this weekend, Lauryn has been consumed with football. (I think I just heard Grandma cheering :)

I turned on the tv on Saturday to catch the last of the Aggie/Arkansas game and asked if Lauryn wanted to watch it. I was shocked to see how focused she was. So many questions. She started chanting, "Let's go Aggies! Let's go Aggies!" It was like I was having an out of body experience. I don't think I've ever cheered for a football game on tv a day in my life.

She was so disappointed when the Aggies lost. She talked about it for the next two days. She drew pictures about it. This is one of my all-time favorite pictures and I will keep it forever.

If you click on it, you should be able to see the details. The people in the stands. Each team carefully labeled ("Teem ATM" and "Teem Ark"). The fans are cheering. The players are shouting "Get it! Get it!".

And best of all...in Lauryn's picture, the Aggies win.

She never fails to make me laugh!

Wow. That is an amazing picture. I remember watching football with my Dad at a very young age and asking LOTS of questions. So, it's not that abnormal. :) I can't believe that picture though. So cute.

What a great drawing and so detailed! And I think I like her outcome better!
