We have the book The Three Little Pigs. I have no idea where it came from. The copyright is 1972, so most likely it was from a garage sale I ran across in my first year of teaching. It stayed in my classroom for the next 5 years until I quit teaching when Lauryn was born.
Of course all my books came with me.
Several months ago, Allison discovered the book amongst the others and for some reason has declared it her all-time favorite.
The child adores this book. She wants to read it over and over all day long.
There is physical proof of how desperately she loves on this book. It no longer has a front cover. Or a back cover. Or a spine.
But somehow it holds together and provides my sweet girl with hours of entertainment (accumulated, of course.)
Lauryn has heard the story so much, she can now "read" it to Allison, which has come in quite handy at times when my fourteen piles of laundry trump the big bad wolf.
I found the girls reading the book together on the couch after breakfast one morning. My heart melted into a puddle right then and there.

I hope the book can hold together long enough for me to read it to their children!

You have to see the thing in person to really get the full tattered effect! Maybe one of Allie's Christmas presents can be having it rebound. :) And I love their matching pjs.
Oh. My. Gosh!
This is just too much!!
I just love how Allie's little hand is resting on her chin as Lauryn reads!!
SOOOOO precious. Those pictures are pure love. Hazel was quite obsessed with that story for a while. She made us tell it to her over and over every night and then she would have nightmares about the wolf. I never could understand why she kept wanting to hear it.
