We're completely remodeling our master bathroom (YAY!) and Lauryn has been really interested in the details.
Last weekend Brent started working on it and in the process, exposed what we had feared (but already knew). The original owners were obsessed with wallpaper. We could tell they did the texture and paint themselves. And we had a hunch they just slapped it up on top of the wallpaper. We were right!
And keep in mind that our house was built in the early 80's...definitely not a shining moment for the interior decorating industry.
Lauryn wandered in at some point in the day and came running out declaring, "Oh, wow! I just love your new wallpaper!"
Looks like we need to start watching a little more HGTV.

We are in the process of remodeling both upstairs bathrooms...at the same time... with my husband doing all the work...and only able to work on it one day a week. I bet you get done before we do!! Best of luck!
Oh joy. I just adore wallpaper. I worked for this lady at church and had to peel wallpaper out of her bathroom. After a couple of weeks (because she only wanted to pay me for two hours a week) she came in and said "You would think you would be able to finish this in one day since it's such a small room!" Obviously she has never peeled 35 yr old wallpaper off a wall before. :)
