We Did It!

I am counting the minutes until I can pick the girls up from school...missing them soooo much right now! It is definitely going to be an interesting change. It sure is quiet in the house!

But to back up, they had a great morning! I couldn't have asked for a better first day of school! They woke up happy and excited. Allie had gone to the closet and grabbed her dress before she even came out of her room!

We had a special "monkey bread" breakfast, which they gobbled down. They wanted to be sure they had enough time to draw their pictures. Lauryn drew a picture for two of her good friends that said "Happy First Day of School". Allie wanted to draw a picture for a girl she met at Meet-the-Teacher night. She asked me to help her write the words, "Can we be best friends?" :) So sweet!

Here they are before we left for school!
Big kindergartner! I can't believe it!
My grown up girl...second grade!

Getting her name tag...all smiles!

Excited to get started!
This morning was such an answer to prayer. I was unsure of how Allie would react, but she was genuinely excited and couldn't wait to get started! She put her lunch on the counter, backpack in her locker, found her name tag, and got started!

Lauryn's teacher had a slide show going on the screen telling them what they needed to do. They got homework on Meet-the-Teacher night (!) and they were supposed to hang it on the front of their locker with a magnet. SO cute!

I can not wait to hear how their first day went. We are feeling so blessed.
