Our New Pool

Well, it could have been for a little while anyway.

We felt the aftermath of the hurricane all last night and this morning. That rain was FIERCE! It sounded like it was hailing at times, but the rain was just that strong and heavy.

I looked out the front window this morning and literally watched the water slowly rise in front of our house. I used the mailbox as a gauge. It just kept getting higher and higher! Then I started to notice the waves! In the street!
Before long, our entire front yard was under water.
I stood in the garage and watched this van drive down the road. In his defense, it really didn't look that deep. The water continued to rise. The highest point it reached was just above the headlights on the van. So before it was over, the flowers by the sidewalk were almost completely underwater.
It was quite an adventurous morning around here! Now we'll have to see how long it takes the garage to air out...at one point water was covering the entire garage floor!

wow! That would be cool and scary at the same time. Glad the house didn't flood. I know most people don't carry flood insurance! I miss rain like that. It just doesn't ever rain like that in UT.

HOLY CRAP!!!! That's kind of awesome and terrifying. I can't believe it made waves! Hope you didn't have any mail in that mailbox. ;)
