Easter morning! The girls were thrilled to find stuffed bunnies and brand new watches in their Easter baskets.
It was a beautiful day, and we got a few cute pictures outside before church.
My birthday happened to fall on Easter this year, which has never happened before, so it was definitely a special day.We celebrated Easter in the morning, and then after church, we switched gears to celebrate my birthday. The girls had been keeping my gift a secret for weeks, which is pretty impressive for a 7 and 4 year old!
We've been talking about getting the girls a Wii (video game system) for a while, and decided to surprise them with one on the last day of school to reward them for a wonderful school year.
Apparently I was the only one out of the loop, because Brent actually surprised ME with a Wii for my birthday! He also bought me a bottle of the same perfume I used to wear in high school. I can't believe he still remembered the name! Very sweet :)
We played the Wii for a little while, then we all went on about our day and on to other things like making dinner, yard work, coloring and playing with stickers, etc.
All except for this one:
She couldn't get enough! She's definitely her mother's daughter. (I won't admit how much Nintendo I played as a kid.) I was standing in the kitchen and I could hear her shouting "YES!" at the top of her lungs in the playroom. I think she's really going to like my birthday gift :) Finally, to wrap up the week, the girls were so excited to watch the Royal Wedding on Friday. We set the DVR and planned to watch the wedding when Lauryn got home from school.
The girls dressed up in their best "royal" attire...
Seeing the wedding dress for the first time...
They enjoyed the wedding and all of the details...until it went on and on and on and on. That was the only thing Allie could say about the wedding at the end of the day. It was just really long. :)
