Some Singing and Some Chopping and Some Rolling

The girls have been going to church choir every Wednesday night for the past year. Choir is over for the summer and will resume in September. They had a big choir performance this week, complete with a printed program and certificates!
I love to watch the girls sing. Their little faces light up, and you can really see them concentrating on the words. I'm so happy that they both enjoy church choir. I hope they continue to enjoy it for many years!

Switching gears...

I want to thank the city for hiring people to come and trim trees around power lines. We have had several trees around our house with limbs dangerously close to the power lines. I want to thank them, because it was only a matter of time before some strong wind caused those limbs to take down one of our power lines. And if it isn't obvious, I don't generally care for it when my house is dark and my air conditioner doesn't work.

I also thank them, because now my husband will quit climbing ladders trying to cut the limbs away himself.

But ok.

Seriously.

Really?

They cut every single limb off the tree. Except for two. It looks a little like a tree from Whoville.
And this one. Sooooo glad they left that one little branch sticking straight up. That ought to provide some nice shade this summer when we need some relief from the heat. We'll just stand under it in a single file line. And finally, as I type this, Brent is helping the girls get ready for bed. I heard several enormous thuds, followed by a little voice saying, "I'm all right!" Lauryn came running in to give me the play-by-play. Apparently Allie slipped in the tub while taking a shower, and I quote, "rolled around like a buttered potato in the kitchen sink." It's only funny because it didn't result in an ER trip at bedtime.

I'll leave you with that for tonight.

And hope you still come back.
