Updates...

So busy. Nothing new about that, but just really hard to blog these days!

Here are several different topics lumped into one post. Hopefully by summertime I will be able to do more routine blogging, but for now this will have to do!

Spring is definitely here! We had some cold days last week and into the weekend, but overall it has been so beautiful. A couple of weeks ago we took a kite to the park and had a picnic.

Perfection.

Last Saturday we baked in the sun during Allie's soccer game. I got sunburned on my arms and it was definitely uncomfortable. She had a great time as always, though, so it was well worth it!

Here she is, leading the pack!
Fast forward 24 hours later and they played a random Sunday afternoon game...in the drizzling rain and 50 degree temperatures! Allie played goalie for the first time and stopped the other team from getting 5 goals...success! (Brent stood near the goal to help her know when it was ok to pick up the ball...she is very concerned about picking it up because that is a big "no-no" in the game of soccer :) I love my little rule follower!
On Thursday the first graders performed at the PTA meeting.
They had their traditional "Hat Parade" where each child wore a hat that he/she made and decorated in their class. There were some really hilarious hats walking around! Every single first grader walked to the stage and introduced themselves, turned around once to "model" their hat, and then walked off stage! You could tell which kids had no fear, and which ones were really struggling with this task.

If you asked me a year ago, I would have told you that Lauryn would be terrified to do something like this. However, she marched right up there, spoke her name LOUD and clear, and did a perfect little turn. So precious!
The Hat Parade was followed by a music program including songs about Texas and America. Very cute!

This weekend has been beautiful. Today we spent the entire day working in the yard (and yes, when I said "WE", I meant myself included! I know...it's shocking!)

We planted lots of new flowers and did lots of spring cleaning in both the front and back yard. We stopped to have a picnic lunch on the back patio, and then headed to Allie's soccer game.

We are loving Spring!
