Well, that's not completely true. This picture was taken on Wednesday of this week...our FIFTH snow day since the beginning of February. It was icy/snowy that morning, but it quickly melted around lunchtime.
So we spent the morning in our pajamas, making and decorating Valentine's cupcakes. They weren't for a party or anything. Just for fun. And now it's Friday (just two days later) and they're completely gone.
I'm a little ashamed.
Oh, well...moving on! Allie was able to have her Valentine's Day party at school as planned! Lots of fun with friends! Here she is playing "Pin the Heart on the Heart" or something. The kids liked it!
Playing Letter Bingo!
Allie and her besties from school, Madeline and Raegan.
Eating a cupcake, because we hadn't already eaten enough of those this week!
And some funnies to end the week with:**Every night we say prayers with the girls in their room at bedtime. We always say something along the lines of, "Thank you Lord, for our many blessings...". Last week during one of our four snow days, the girls and I were eating lunch and I made a comment about how lucky we were to have a warm place to live. Many people don't have a warm place to stay during this terrible winter storm. I said, "Having a nice, warm home is such a blessing."
Lauryn replied, "Yes it is a blessing...a mini one."
How long has she been thinking we were thanking God for all of these random, mini-blessings in our lives?!! We've since started to say thank you for "all" of our blessings.
**Lauryn asked me what "monitor" meant. I explained that it meant to observe or watch.
She thought for a minute...
L: "So the lunch monitors are just lunch watchers?"
Me: "Yes, exactly".
L: "Hmmm...lunch watchers sounds kind of like a movie." Then, in a creepy whisper, she said, "It's...The LUNCH Watchers", followed by an evil laugh.
Who is this kid??
