Popping With Excitement

Happy New Year! We are so excited to see what this new year brings. I have to admit, I had to fight the tears back as we watched the ball drop on New Year's Eve. I wasn't going to let myself do it...but I did. I thought about it. This is the year my BABY goes to kindergarten.

Sure, it's still almost nine months away. But it's on the calendar already.

I have to change the subject.

2010, as always, was a year of blessings for our family. We are so fortunate in so many ways. My personal goal is to work really hard this year on not taking any of that for granted. God is good and faithful. Even in times of fear and uncertainty, He sees us through.

While I'm working on getting more Christmas pictures organized, I thought I'd share my children's first experience with a hot air popcorn popper. It is a tragedy in some ways that they had no idea you could make popcorn in this way.

And I had forgotten how delicious popcorn can actually be.

Here is a picture of my children mocking me after I asked them why they didn't look very excited to use the new popper. Sarcasm already??

Back to their natural state...they really didn't expect anything exciting at all.
Wait...what's that?! A real piece of popcorn just flew up!
You're serious?!? All those kernels are going to pop right now...OUTSIDE of the microwave??!
WOAH!!!!!!
It's alive!!
This is more fun than Six Flags!
I believe they have been converted.

I'm having a hard time with thinking about Avery going to Kindergarten. Preschool is one thing, but Kindergarten? All day? No thank you.

Miss you friend.

Man, I really should have picked one of those up when I was at Target today. I think we'll be converted as well...much better than a greasy, filmy bag!
