What We've Been Up To

Another year, another round of swimming lessons! Lauryn went to two pool parties this past weekend. She was literally the only one who wasn't swimming like a fish (which kind of surprised me). She wanted soooo desperately to do what the other kids were doing. She was so ready for lessons to start, which was music to my ears.

Remember how miserable lessons have been for us (at least Lauryn) in the past years? Well, I'm thrilled to report that this session has been nothing but pleasant. Lauryn was a little nervous/intimidated on the first day. New pool, new teacher, new kids...all a recipe for a little anxiety from our sweet girl. She pulled it together VERY quickly, which thrilled me to no end.

Allie, on the other hand, marched right off with her class, waving at me as she went. Not to say that she doesn't have her moments of apprehension, but she is the least fearful of the two.

Lauryn in a class with ALL boys. Can I just tell you how awesome it is that even that situation hasn't bothered her? I've seen so much growth in her between last summer and now.

We are LOVING summer vacation. The girls play so much during the day. This particular morning they were in their pajamas until about 11:00...heavenly :)

We've had lots of fun playdates, with many more on the calendar! We got together with our friends Matthew and Jake who go to different schools. The kids haven't played together in MONTHS, but they picked up right where they left off.

We're continuing on with gymnastics during the summer. Here's Allie from class this morning. I forgot her leotard in all the packing craziness this morning (swimming to gymnastics to lunch to playdate...something was bound to get left behind!) but she didn't seem too bothered by it. Sorry it's not much of an action shot, but at least it's documented :)

So it's a little out of order, but here's a shot of our playdate at the museum. The kids loved the "Dino Dig".

We are loving summer. Allie and I are loving having Lauryn at home with us! We've got lots of fun planned in the coming months...can't wait!
