Star in the Making

I mentioned a while back how Lauryn became a big fan of Taylor Swift after I got the cd for Christmas. We listened to it in the car and she now knows every song. I like Taylor and I think her songs are fun. I guess I just wasn't quite ready for this "idol" phase.

Lauryn likes to watch the videos and sing and dance like Taylor. She will put a headband on and tell me that she looks "just like Taylor"! Lauryn loves to perform and does it any chance she gets.

Taylor is a cute, wholesome looking girl and I have no problem with Lauryn looking up to her.

And as far as I've heard, she hasn't done anything to cause me to run and scream at the thought of her being a role-model for young girls.

Let's face it...we could be doing a whole lot worse.

Oh, I know. Just leave the poor girl alone. But you have to admit, that was just too easy.

*Edited to add:
In case anyone is offended by this picture, I do want to state for the record that I feel very sorry for Britney. I sincerely hope she gets the help she needs. I'm just glad she's not the celebrity my child is choosing to imitate!

So anyway, a few weeks ago Lauryn and Macy were playing dress up (of course). Lauryn wanted Macy to watch Taylor's music videos with her.

Before we knew it, Lauryn started imitating Taylor by singing and playing her guitar. She even put on a "headband" because Taylor is wearing one in the video.

Of course Taylor's headband doesn't look quite like this one.
Her zebra print bow is much bigger.
And yes, this is Lauryn's own version of a guitar. Just when we thought there could be nothing more pathetic than the "pieces of dresses" incident, my poor child has to use an Aquadoodle board because she doesn't have a real guitar.
I wonder how late Toys 'R Us is open...

Oh no you didn't. Kicking the poor girl while she's down.

A guitar will have to make the bday list for sure!

Clearly Macy is starstruck.

Oh my gosh. Owen has been through so many guitars. I should have sent them all to you. She is so hilarious.

ha! so cute. You could always show her how to play air guitar.
