We have been wanting to replace the carpet in the back of our house for a long time. We figured we'd wait until the kids were old enough to not spill drinks or rubber cement or hot pink "gak" (aka some sort of stretchy slime "toy"). All of this we've learned from experience, in case you wondered.

I'm happy to announce that we now have brand new carpet in the back bedrooms. I'm even happier that there is no longer a hot pink gak stain right in the middle of the girls' floor. Or a coffee stain the size of a coconut in the extra bedroom.

Love you, hubby :)

The carpet guys ended up getting here late, which meant they left late, which meant it was bedtime and the girls' beds were dismantled and the parts were scattered all over the living room.

We suddenly became the best parents on the planet because we announced that they could sleep on the floor of their room in their sleeping bags ON A SCHOOL NIGHT. I'm sure the screams of delight could be heard across town.

So before we headed to bed, I went in to check on the girls, who were sound asleep. This is our usual nighttime routine.

However, this particular night, we noticed something a little bit different:

She apparently needed to sleep with a night cap, just like Laura and Mary Ingalls.

I believe what we have here is a little something called an OBSESSION.
