We are officially on Spring Break, although for us it started a little early today. I just picked up Lauryn from school with a 103.3 fever. Boo!! There were five other 2nd graders in the nurse's office when I picked her up. One of the kindergarten classes had 7 kids go home one day this week. It is strep, flu, and just a bunch of yuck going around. Allie had a stomach bug Wednesday night and luckily it was the short 24 hour kind.
If there is anything to be thankful for, it is that this all happened this week and not next week when we're out of school!
Here are a couple of random pictures that I just wanted to be sure to remember. Lauryn's class got a new student last week. That same day Lauryn came home from school and wrote this card for her because she wanted her to feel welcome and not scared. She is so precious :)
The girls play Barbies every chance they get. This particular day, the Barbies were enjoying a day at Disney World. They created their own "Soarin'" ride, one of their favorites from Epcot. You are strapped into a multi-passenger glider and lifted 40 feet in the air surrounded by an IMAX screen, so it looks like you are really soaring through the air over different landmarks.Unfortunately it looks as though their youngest passenger here wasn't strapped in very well. Her fall was caught on camera. Tragic.

Allie had her Kindergarten Rodeo last Friday! It was Texas Independence Day and they sure know how to celebrate! :)

Here we are leaving for school in the only western clothes we could find. We don't really do the "cowboy" look very often in our house of pink!
Eating at their "cook out" - yummy hot dogs!
Sitting around the campfire singing "Home on the Range" and playing the guitar. Each classroom provided a different "western" game or activity and the kids rotated through each station. Super fun!
Roasting marshmallows over the open flame...
Riding the "buckin' bronco"! She was completely in her element. She loved every second of this station! I can't believe she can actually ride on those things!

This cracked me up all day. They are "wanted", so they had to make a "mean" face. Love my precious little outlaw. Her teacher gave them all "cowboy" names and she told me that she had to include "smile" somewhere in Allie's name. I'm so thankful that her sweet smile is one of the first things people notice about her!
Allie and her AMAZING teacher. She is such a blessing!
Hopefully I will have lots of Spring Break pictures to share by the end of next week, and that we get rid of our germs very quickly!
