Saturday Surprise

We've had our noses to the grindstone for weeks. Constantly on the go. Brent has been traveling for work a lot. Soccer, gymnastics, choir practices and meetings almost every night of the week. Rush, rush, rush.

We decided we needed to do something with the girls that was super fun and completely out of the ordinary. So we planned a little trip to Ft. Worth to walk around the Stockyards, have a yummy lunch at a GREAT bbq restaurant, and surprise the girls with a ride on the Train!

We should be used to this, but it doesn't make it any easier. We had beautiful 70 degree weather all week, then Friday night a cold front came through and it was in the 30's Saturday morning. We went ahead with our plans and just bundled up!

We timed it so we would be near the tracks when the train arrived. We told the girls to stand in front of it for a picture, which they happily obliged.
Then the surprise...

"Do you want to RIDE on that train?"
I think they did.
Watching the engine turn around...

Waiting to board the train...
(This is for you, Pappy! We thought he looked like you! :)

There were only about four other people riding on our car...not crowded at all!

It was a great way to break up our crazy busy routine. The girls loved the free popcorn on board, and it was nice to just sit and watch out the window as we traveled through Fort Worth. Such a fun memory!

I just read a month's worth of posts. I didn't realize I was so behind! Congrats to Lauryn on her election win! I hope that Allie enjoys soccer! She looks like a natural. The train ride looked like fun!
