Just a quick mental checklist to sum up my morning...for memory's sake.
*4 year old starts crying when I wake her up for the day
*She has a sore throat and won't eat any breakfast
*Take 6 year old to school while simultaneously trying to schedule a doctor's appointment
*Consider it a small miracle when the receptionist answers the phone on the first try (usually it's a busy signal for the first 30 minutes after the office opens for the day)
*Run some quick errands and get to the doctor by 9:30 a.m.
*4 year old cries upon entering the waiting room at the doctor's office
*Doesn't stop crying
*Continues to cry when nurse enters the room
*4 year old screams as nurse jabs a super long q-tip down her throat
*4 year old gags and coughs
*Doctor checks 4 year old's throat, chest, ears, and nose
*Nurse returns and says two words: "It's positive"
*Get prescription for antibiotic
*Wait for prescription to be filled while holding shivering 4 year old who is "freezing" (I hate fevers.)
*4 year old asks for special Chick fil A lunch and a milkshake
*Spend 30 minutes getting to Chick fil A due to construction and road closures
*Pull into Chick fil A's drive through line, look back, and see that 4 year old is sound asleep.
*Order food and begin to drive home
*Turn first corner and spill milkshake into console area of car
*Pick up cup. Realize it's very slippery. Drop it upside down AGAIN onto lap.
*Grumble all the way home
*Can't find garage door opener
*Discover garage door opener in the console, face down in a puddle of melted ice cream.
*Pray that garage door opens (it does) and consider that the second miracle of the day
*Clean up mess and wake up sleeping 4 year old
*4 year old cries and asks to go to sleep. Doesn't want to eat the food that took 45 minutes to get.
*Put 4 year old to bed
*Realize that it is only 12:30 in the afternoon
*And Friday is still 2 whole days away

sorry!!! Strep throat is not fun. Hang in there...she should be a new child after those antibiotics kick in! Wish I was there to help somehow!
These are the days that you just hope to survive. You forgot to mention that your husband was out of town...just a nice touch to the day. :) Hope she feels much better tomorrow.
That's a horrible day! I hope that sweet girl is better soon. And that the weekend is here quickly.
