They were supposed to dress as scarecrows that day. Right before dismissal they gave a performance for the parents. Those kids did a GREAT job! Everyone knew exactly what they were doing!
Promenading with her partner...or whatever the square dancing term is.

Last week Allie's preschool class had a pow-wow to wrap up a study about the Native Americans. They sang songs and danced and the teacher talked about what life was like for Native Americans. Each child even got a special "name" for the ceremony. Allie was "Sunflower".
In other news, I have to share a fun craft idea for all of my crafty friends. I can't take any credit for this idea. I read about it on one of the many crafting blogs that I read, but can't remember which one!
Choose which side of the placemat will be the bottom of the pillow. Take a seam ripper and carefully remove the stitching between the two pieces of fabric...make a big enough opening to put your hand through.

In other news, I have to share a fun craft idea for all of my crafty friends. I can't take any credit for this idea. I read about it on one of the many crafting blogs that I read, but can't remember which one! I made this pillow for Christmas using a $3.99 placemat from Target. Some fabric placemats are "two sided", meaning they are really just two pieces of fabric sewn together, exactly like you would sew a pillow.
Fill it with stuffing, and either hand sew or use a sewing machine to stitch it back up again. It doesn't even have to look pretty because the bottom part of the pillow will not be showing anyway. So for just $3.99, you can make some really cute holiday pillows!
Finally, I have to share this blog post I found. I haven't read this blog before, but I think it's going to have to be added to my never ending list of crafty blogs.
Just reading this gave me incredible perspective today. After a crazy week of having a sick kiddo and meetings and a hectic schedule, I realized how easy it is to get upset over small things, let alone the big hurdles life sometimes throws at you. I am amazed at this woman's perspective and the way she made the absolute best out of a really frustrating situation. I hope it is inspiring to you as well!

That's the cutest scarecrow I've ever seen. I love the pillow. Sounds like something even I could make!
"Sunbeam" would be a more fitting name for her.
