They're fans of the manual labor

This past weekend the girls stayed outside with their Daddy all.day.long.

Of their own free will.

On purpose.

Sorry...I still can't wrap my brain around it.

Anyway, they enjoyed doing all the things I can't stand, so everyone was a winner. They washed the car for the first time in ages. We've had so much rain this spring and summer it just seemed pointless, don't you think? Me too.

They loved every second of it and begged to wash our other car the next night. It's like I don't even know who these children are. Certainly must belong to their Daddy.

Look at the joy and happiness a little soap and water can bring!

I realize this is nothing to those of you with boy(s), but this much dirt makes my skin crawl. I can't believe I took a picture of her feet. At the time it seemed her feet were completely caked with mud and I couldn't even see her toes.

I realize now that I was overreacting a little. But still way too dirty for those cute little princess toes.

Then the NEXT day B asked if anyone wanted to help him build the new fence. While I was busy hiding in the closet, I heard the girls sprint out the door eager to provide assistance.
Did I mention that it's hot? Like 102 degrees in the shade hot? Do they care??! Not one bit!

Well, maybe just a little...I love this picture...they are making the exact same face!
The fence is coming along beautifully thanks to my hero of a husband and our free help :)

You're right, that's hardly dirty at all! Hayden loves being outside helping daddy too! It takes almost 2 hours to mow the front yard and he will ride that lawn mower with Craig the whole time!

OMG that's how our kids are! I always tell Jarrod that my genes must have disappeared or something b/c I am so not outdoorsy. I'd rather sit with a good book or if I have to be outdoors be by water the whole time. The other day we were in the garden and he said "Man, I love this! I would do this all day everyday." at the same time I was thinking- Man, I wish we knew some kids we could hire to come pull all the weeds, it's hot.
