Our church had an egg hunt on Saturday morning, and the girls were super excited!

We dyed eggs after lunch and it was considerably less messy than last year. They're growing up :(
Saturday night we made Easter Cookies. Lauryn asked a million questions which just confirmed the fact that my child is smarter than I am. I never thought of the things she thinks of at five years old. I just didn't.
Sunday morning, the girls woke up and we opened the oven to check on our cookies. We discovered that they were empty inside, just like the tomb...He is Risen!!We spent a fun morning getting ready for church and hunting eggs in the back yard. The girls got a book, a dress for their Barbies, and a hopping ball from the Easter Bunny.
Although I was a little sad when Lauryn leaned over at the table earlier in the week and whispered, "I'm not going to tell Allie that you're really the Easter Bunny", and then smiled sweetly, proud that we had our own little secret.
I guess I should have known a kid who thinks as much as she does wouldn't quite buy the whole Easter Bunny routine. It is kind of a creepy idea. We've also never really played up the bunny thing, so it was a relief to realize that she wasn't disappointed in the least.
