And the Holiday Fun Continues

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you did, too! This year it was just the four of us on Thanksgiving. (We celebrated with my family the weekend before and B's family the weekend after). We managed to get all the Christmas decorations up and enjoyed a quiet day at home. The girls watched the Macy's parade from start to finish (something I have NEVER been able to do!) and I stayed busy cooking a few dishes in the morning.

Lauryn gets Highlights magazine in the mail each month. She was so excited to try a recipe she found in the November issue. The name of the recipe was "Snowy Fruit Salad". Basically it involved opening cans of fruit, cutting up a couple of bananas, and sprinkling coconut on top. She was soooo proud!

Lauryn put the top on the tree!
The girls love to hang the ornaments, "ooh"ing and "aah"ing over each one.

Friday afternoon we enjoyed visiting Six Flags for Holiday in the Park! It was sooo nice to walk around and not be drenched in sweat or need to refill your water bottle 15 times in 2 hours.
They had a snow covered hill for kids (and parents!) to slide down on while sitting on a plastic sled. That alone was worth the price of admission. My kids have been asking when it is going to snow for the past two months. I don't even want to think about what will happen if we make it through this winter without at least a couple of flurries!

The Mini-Mine Train is definitely their favorite ride. We probably rode it 6 times in a row.

There were so many Christmas "characters" around the park. The reindeer were my favorite!
Now we're ready for Christmas!

So fun! I'm glad that you posted about six flags... Tom got a season pass when he went w/ some work friends last month, but I wondered if the girls would really enjoy going. It looks like there are plenty of things for little people to enjoy. Have a blessed Christmas!
