Penguins and Monkeys and Fish! Oh, my!

Spring has sprung and we are LOVING it! Of course you can't get too comfortable around here. They are predicting high temperatures in the 50's later this week. But we'll take it when we can get it. In a month or two we'll be thrilled when the temperatures dip below 90 degrees.

Last Friday was gorgeous, so the girls and I headed to the zoo. Those membership passes are the best things ever...you just park and walk right in like you own the place. And the girls get so excited every time, like they've never been there before!

My monkeys looking at the monkeys

The flamingos were so cute! They were super hyper, running around in a big group and squawking at each other! Must be the weather.
Or maybe they're imitating all the kids they've seen over the years.
What's the big deal about flamingos? Anyone can stand on one leg. See?

Posing with the elephant statueWaving frantically at the penguins.
How cute are they!?
I can just see them, 80 years from now, in this same pose.
Touching the "fish"
Here's what we think of that longhorn.

One of our traditions following our zoo trip is to stop at my favorite snobby bakery and have a few of their ridiculously overpriced, although quite delicious, cookies.
It's like Christmas morning.

Mmmmm....
Can we go to the zoo again tomorrow?!?

What awesome pictures! I LOVE the one in the chairs where they are looking at each other. Isn't the zoo so great? I wish we had penguins at our zoo. They are so freakin cute.
