I think August is the one month that ALWAYS catches me off guard. August 1st rolls around and I think, "Hey! We still have practically a whole month of summer left!" and then I look up and my baby has turned another year older and school is starting again.

Yep - my BABY turned 7. Seven YEARS old. It's heartbreaking, really. She had her traditional donuts for breakfast to start her morning off right! 

To celebrate her birthday, she invited her two best friends (three, counting her big sister :) to the water park. We rented a covered cabana and brought cupcakes, fruit, and drinks. It was so easy and sooo fun! Gotta love August birthdays! 

Thanks to Pinterest, we had one very happy birthday girl after making her "beach" cupcakes.

We also had so much fun that weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Could there be anything better on your birthday weekend than riding horses with Grandpa!? Mama always gets so nervous, but the girls have never once shown fear or hesitation around the horses. I love that they are so comfortable around them - I wish I could be! 

 We just adore our sweet Allie! She is one of the funniest kids I know, and half the time she isn't even trying to be! She is extremely reserved around other people, and especially at school. When she is at home, she is a completely different kid! Silly girl. 

Her sensitivity and compassion for others is amazing - it makes us so very proud to watch this trait develop as she grows. We can not wait to see what God has in store for our sweet girl!
