They each had a party at school, complete with pizza and a Valentine exchange.
"If You Take a Mouse to the Movies"

"Gingerbread Friends"

Some "beach" themed book I've never read...but what a cool table!

"Pinkalicious"
(one of our current favorites!)

The guest speaker was an author named Robert Munsch. He wrote the book "Love You Forever" which makes me cry every single time I read it. He signed autographs and sat up on stage and told stories for about 30 minutes. There were probably 100 kids there, and they were completely quiet the entire time he spoke...he is an amazing storyteller!

After Reading Rocks we took the girls to my parents' house and went out for a late lunch as our Valentine's Day Date! The girls had a great time at a neighborhood party where my parents live. They decorated cookies, had a pinata, and played games.
When we went to pick them up, we stayed to visit for a while. In that short time, Allison managed to figure out the M&M machine upstairs in their gameroom. She snuck upstairs and helped herself to multiple handfuls of M&Ms. Twice.
We all learned our lesson around 11 p.m. that night when she threw up chocolate all over her bed. Poor baby. I'm not sure why I didn't think that cupcakes, candy, cookies, icing, more candy, and buckets of M&Ms might be an issue for her little tummy.
Go ahead and start sending in your nominations for my Mother-of-the-Year award.
Funny, she hasn't asked for candy since.

Is Lauryn growing out her bangs? SO cute!!!
Sounds like they had an awesome day (with exception of Allie getting sick). Lauryn looks a little like your mom in the pic in front of the Beach cake.
I'm loving Lauryn's new "do"! And the girls loved their Valentines.
So yes, you DO get mother of the yr award for mailing valentines to friends across the state!
