Soooooo, here's what we've been up to!
I took the girls to the Gaylord to take advantage of their amazingly gorgeous Christmas display for our Christmas Card photo shoot. I figured the breathtaking scenery would launch the girls into a holiday frenzy and they would be so full of glee that I wouldn't be able to choose from all the beautiful pictures.
Soooo, ok, that plan backfired.
Merry Christmas! We haven't even had sugar yet!
And the best part of the entire day was getting home to realize that the camera was on the wrong setting the whole time. 90% of the pictures came out blurry or too bright. Luckily I managed to get a couple that worked and made it on this year's Christmas card! Lauryn had her preschool Christmas program last week. Her class sang "Little Drummer Boy".
Which sounded a lot like:
"Mmhmm a loo me PA RUM-PA-PUM-PUM! A neblrn lee smm see PA-RUM-PA-PUM-PUM!"
"Mmhmm a loo me PA RUM-PA-PUM-PUM! A neblrn lee smm see PA-RUM-PA-PUM-PUM!"
At least they had the chorus down. And the beating of the drum.

Our family at the "reception" in the classroom after the performance!

A friend from pre-school invited us to go see "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" at Casa Manana (a live theater) on Friday. This was a first for us. I haven't been since back in the field trip days of teaching public school. Way before I had kids of my own. So it was fun to experience it again with my girls.
I was unsure of how Allison would do. I knew Lauryn would love watching all the action, but the thought of sitting through an hour-long live performance with a 2 year old was a little scary.
She absolutely loved it. She sat on my lap the whole time and asked questions about all of the characters. ("Where did Santa go?" "What's Rudolph doing?" "Who's that?") The child literally cried when it was over because she wanted "more Rudolph!"
We're bringing culture back.

Lauryn was thrilled to have the opportunity to sing in the "Cherub Choir" at church last Sunday. She smiled the entire time and sang every word of a VERY long song. It amazes me at how much their brains can absorb and retain! Here she is right before we left for church.

And finally, tonight I had the pleasure of cleaning up vomit from the baseboards, wall, and bathroom cabinets. Not to mention the coffee table, wood floor, and carpet.
Yes, it was a lovely production. But I have a feeling Lauryn is traumatized and will need therapy.
No, she was not the one vomiting, but she was standing inches from her sister when she erupted.
She cried harder and longer than Allison did. I realized that she has never seen anyone throw up (yes we are VERY lucky in that department) and it can be a little scary looking!
It was like the Exorcist for about 54 seconds, and then she was completely fine. There was no warning, and also no aftershock. I cleaned her up and took her out of the bathtub, and she went running down the hall squealing and laughing. I'm not quite sure what to think about that one.
So there you have it. All you ever wanted to know about what we've been up to in the past week! Aren't you glad you asked! :)
*And no, the crazy spacing in this post was not my doing. Blogger loves me.*

You crack me up! Good to have you back on here :)
You'd probably had more time for blogs if a certain friend (me) didn't place an insanely lg bow order on you!
Thanks for the update! Yea for Casa Manana ~ glad you got some culture this year since we missed it. I don't think the Polar Express Train is of the same caliber.
And I love the pic of Lauryn in the tree in the black dress ~ she looks just beautiful! Loved your Christmas card too!
I was about to call you - I was worried! LOL Glad to hear everything is going great. We loved your card! :)
So- in case you forgot us for some reason this year....I just wanted to let you know that you better throw one of those leftover cards in the mail for me. I don't know what I would do if I didn't get a Pilgrim Christmas card!!!! It's the highlight of my year!
Just teasing. I'm sure it's on it's way....right? lol
Those girls are just too cute and I love their dresses. But my favorite is the vomit story. I can't tell you how many times Owen has had a random explosive vomit and then been totally fine. It's the most bizarre thing ever.
Lindsey, you totally should have gotten the card by now. Send me your address so I can be sure I have the right one!
Oh my gosh. THe vomiting made me LOL. Mainly because I know how much you hate vomit, and how little you vomit, and think it's so funny that Lauryn was traumatized by it. Loved your christmas card btw. don't expect one from me this year. I'm 8 months pregnant, and that's all I have to say.
Don't you just love the Gaylord? It's so beautiful there. I haven't been at Christmas time, but I can only imagine! The girls are just beautiful in their dresses. Sorry to hear that Allison was sick, but glad to hear that she made a speedy recovery without too much hospitalization. LOL.
