Yes, Miss Scarlett

My three year old is definitely the entertainer. I won't pretend to know where she comes up with half the things that leave her mouth. In fact, one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog was to document all the "little" comments that she makes. That way her grandparents (and anyone else who cares!) can read about them without picking up the phone 24 times a day only to hear me on the other end giggling over the latest "Lauryn-ism".

For example, I resisted the temptation to pick up the phone last night after her bedtime prayer. I had to stifle laughter when Lauryn began her prayer by thanking God for her push-pins that she used at school. Three years old and already acutely aware of God's bountiful blessings.

Anyway, this morning she was on a random Miss Manners kick. Everything was "please", "thank you", "Yes, Ma'am", etc. And then after several minutes of this routine, a curious grin spread across her face. I could tell she had just thought of something extremely amusing and she was about to test it out on me. So a while later, I asked if she was done with breakfast and she said, "Yes, Ma'am. YES MAMMY!!" and dissolved into giggles. For about an hour after that, anytime I asked her a question or told her to do something, she answered with, "Yes, Mammy."

One image repeatedly popped into my head. And I don't know about you, but I'm thinking it fits. I mean, we're both lovable, exceptional homemakers, and I'm willing to bet our culinary skills would cause Paula Deen to weep with envy. (If you know me at all, you'll be giggling about that last one well into next week. I once ruined macaroni and cheese from a box...but that's another post.)

Yippee! A Pilgrim blog!! I'm so stinking exciting. And hey - if you can wrangle 2 little ones and a working husband around a table and everyone is happy, I think that would rival PD's culinary skills any day of the week.

P.S. Welcome to the addiction that is blogging.
