One of these things is not like the other...

This particular pacifier had been missing for about three days. I went to open the cabinet this morning to get some dish soap. And there it was! I'm not sure which is more embarrassing...the fact that my one year old managed to get into the childproof cabinet, or that it had been at least three days since I used dish soap!

In my defense, the cabinet does have a good lock on it. It pulls open just far enough for her to squeeze her little hand into, but not far enough for her to reach anything inside. So I just assume she was tired of the pacifier and figured this was as good a place as any to drop it off.

Allison has a talent for "relocating" objects around the house. My organized chaos is put to the test with her. I may not have a perfectly spotless house, but I do know where everything is. Don't mistake my piles for clutter. I know exactly where to go when we need to find a specific catalog, envelope, order form, recipe card, etc. They may not always be in the place they are "supposed" to be, but I know where to find them.

When Allison started walking, she started reorganizing as well. She will carry the most random of objects around the house, and then leave it in the most random of places. I have found Tupperware containers in the dirty laundry hamper, her bib in the trash can, and now her pacifier in the "locked" kitchen cabinet. I'm just glad that so far she hasn't "relocated" any food items. I'd hate to find THAT three days later!
