Summer...We've Missed You!

Summer is here and we couldn't be happier! I have several pictures to share from the last days of school.

Allie's class had a swim party. The moms walked in to find the room like this:

Is that not adorable!? The kiddos were playing in the water outside while the moms set up for the party.

Here is Allie with her best friends from school, Madeline and Raegan. She's going to miss them soooo much! They will all be at different schools next year.
Group hug!
Playing a funny game...

This child is officially NOT in pre-school anymore. *sigh*
Later in the week, Lauryn had an awards ceremony. Here she is before school with her biggest fan...
Each child was asked to write out, in their own words, their greatest accomplishment in first grade. Lauryn wrote that her greatest accomplishment was, "Fractions and writing letters."
Awards she received include the Texas Reader's Club Award, Honor Roll, and the Good Citizen Award. So proud of our sweet, smart girl!

Here is Lauryn on her first day of first grade...
...and last day of first grade! (how funny that she is wearing a braid in both pictures...she actually doesn't wear one that often!)
This was a bittersweet week for me. I'm so excited about the changes ahead. Lauryn is going to love second grade. It's the grade I taught for 5 years and I loved it. I am excited about having the girls at the same school. Of course the thought of my baby in kindergarten terrifies me. I know she is ready, but I'm not sure I am. Its been over 7 years since I quit teaching to stay at home. What will I do with no one needing me at home?! We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, I suppose.

For now, we are looking forward to a long, relaxing summer together. Soaking up every minute!

Makes me tear up!!! So proud of your sweet girls. How strange to have them both gone next year. (Of course, I cannot comprehend that at this point in my life while still getting up to nurse 2x a night...)

You are such a wonderful mommy!! What a blessing you have been to those girls!
